US Team to visit India from June 1–4 For key trade pact negotiations

A United States delegation will visit India from June 1 to June 4 to advance negotiations on an interim trade agreement and continue discussions under the broader India–US bilateral trade agreement framework.
According to government officials, the visit aims to finalise key details of the proposed interim pact, focusing on issues such as market access, non-tariff barriers, customs procedures, and investment promotion.
The discussions follow a joint statement issued on February 7, 2026, in which both countries agreed on a framework for a mutually beneficial trade arrangement and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral economic ties.
Earlier, an Indian delegation visited Washington DC from April 20 to April 23 for an in-person round of negotiations with US counterparts, marking progress in ongoing trade discussions.
The upcoming visit is expected to further refine the structure of the interim agreement and accelerate talks under the broader trade partnership framework, with both sides also looking at areas of economic security alignment and trade facilitation reforms.
Officials said the engagement reflects continued momentum in India–US economic relations and a shared interest in expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.
