UP Police set 10-ft DJ height & 75 decibel limit for upcoming Kanwar Yatra

Police in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh have issued guidelines for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra, capping the height of kanwars and DJ setups at 10 feet and sound levels at 75 decibels.
According to a statement issued last night, the width of kanwars and DJ setups should not exceed 12 feet.
Kanwars carrying hockey sticks, baseball bats, clubs, swords or any other weapons will not be allowed to participate in the yatra, police added.
The use of modified silencers, pressure horns and other devices generating excessive noise has also been banned for two-wheeler riders.
Police appealed to pilgrims to follow traffic rules and instructions issued by the administration and urged everyone to maintain peace, harmony and discipline while respecting religious sentiments.
