Telangana businesswoman alleges CM-linked person asked her to meet at guest house

Telangana-based businesswoman has alleged that a person she believed was closely associated with Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy asked her to visit a guest house to discuss her representation concerning the outdoor advertising business.

K Shobha Reddy, an entrepreneur with Hyderabad-based Mithuna Ads, made the allegation in a post on X addressed to the chief minister. The issue was later raised by the opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), which sought an explanation from the government.

She said she had been seeking a lawful opportunity to operate in the outdoor advertising sector for the past three years and had submitted revenue-sharing proposals for a temporary arrangement until regular tenders are conducted.

She further alleged that some advertising structures continued despite notices and unresolved compliance issues. She also claimed that pilot projects and exemptions or relaxations under G.O.Ms.No. 68 had been granted in some cases.

While trying to present her case before the government, Reddy said she approached a person whom she understood to be closely associated with the chief minister. She alleged that the person asked her to come to a guest house to discuss the matter.

Reddy said she did not want to name the individual or make any personal allegations. However, she maintained that as a woman entrepreneur seeking a lawful business opportunity, such matters should be handled through proper, transparent and dignified channels.

She clarified that her post was not aimed at seeking any special favour, but only a lawful opportunity, equal treatment and dignity.

BRS leader M Krishank subsequently questioned the chief minister over the allegation. He asked who the alleged close associate was and why a woman entrepreneur seeking action over G.O.Ms.No. 68 was allegedly asked to meet at a guest house.

There has been no public response so far from the Telangana government, the Chief Minister's Office, the Congress party or the police specifically addressing the allegations.  (with inputs from media organisations)
