ACB arrests three, including Rangareddy DM&HO, over ₹1 lakh bribe

Hyderabad:The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested three persons, including the District Medical and Health Officer and a Health Inspector of Rangareddy district and a Private driver, in connection with a ₹1 lakh bribery case.
According to officials, the accused were identified as Swarna Kumari, DM&HO Health Inspector Maddurikrishnaiah and the driver of the Health Inspector.
Officials further said the Driver allegedly demanded ₹2 lakh from the complainant and accepted ₹1 lakh as a bribe. The amount was allegedly demanded for returning the keys of the complainant’s seized physiotherapy centre and refraining from further action against the centre for operating without a DM&HO licence, and issuing a new licence to the centre.
The ACB recovered the ₹1 lakh bribe amount from the driver's possession. The accused officers performed their duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage, officials said.
Officials further said that three accused will be produced before the Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases at Nampally for judicial remand. The case is under investigation.
