Sonam Raghuvanshi Gets Bail: Brother Refuses To Take Her Home In Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder Case

In a major development in the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case, accused Sonam Raghuvanshi has been granted bail by a local court, reportedly due to procedural lapses in her arrest and delays in trial proceedings.
The decision has sparked strong reactions from both families. The victim Raja Raghuvanshi’s family has demanded a CBI probe, alleging lapses in the police investigation and raising concerns over their safety if other accused — Raj Kushwaha, Vishal, and Akash — are also granted bail.
Meanwhile, Sonam’s brother Govind has distanced himself from her, stating that he will not allow her to stay at their home following her release. He clarified that his recent meeting with her in jail was only for paperwork purposes and not a sign of support. He further added that if his parents decide to bring her back home, he would choose to leave.
Police officials have maintained that the investigation remains strong. East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem said authorities respect the court’s decision and will continue to pursue the case based on existing evidence.
The case, which involves the alleged murder of Raja Raghuvanshi during a honeymoon trip in Meghalaya, continues to draw public attention as legal proceedings move forward.
