Rahul Gandhi slams Maharashtra Govt over TET paper leak, seeks relief for 6 lakh candidates

Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi has criticised the Maharashtra government over the alleged Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) paper leak, saying nearly six lakh candidates have been left in uncertainty after the examination was postponed.

Calling the incident a "theft of the future of the youth," Gandhi said repeated paper leaks have severely damaged the credibility of the country's examination system and demanded immediate action from the state government.

In a message addressed to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Gandhi sought three key measures: a judicial inquiry into the alleged paper leak, strict action against those responsible, and appropriate compensation and support for candidates affected by the postponement.

He said lakhs of aspirants had spent months preparing for the examination and should not have to bear the consequences of administrative failures.

The Maharashtra State Council of Examination postponed the TET after police uncovered an alleged paper leak and arrested several suspects. The state government has ordered an investigation, while opposition parties continue to demand accountability and reforms to prevent recurring examination irregularities.

The incident has once again sparked debate over the security and transparency of recruitment and competitive examinations across the country.
