Ketan Agarwal Murder Case: Police recreate crime scene at Lohagad Fort with accused Siya Goyal, Chetan Chaudhary

The investigation into the alleged murder of Pune-based businessman Ketan Agarwal entered a crucial phase on Sunday as Pune Rural Police took the two accused—his fiancée Siya Goyal and her alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary—to Lohagad Fort to recreate the crime scene. Investigators believe the exercise will help establish the exact sequence of events leading to Agarwal's death on June 18.
The reconstruction began early in the morning at the spot where police allege Ketan Agarwal was pushed into a deep gorge. A mannequin was used during the exercise to verify the accused's statements regarding the location, manner of the push and the trajectory of the fall. Authorities temporarily restricted public access to the fort while the operation was underway.
Police said the reconstruction aimed to map every stage of the incident, including the route taken by the accused, where each person was positioned and how the alleged murder unfolded. Officials hope the exercise will strengthen the evidence gathered during the ongoing investigation.
As part of the probe, investigators also seized the motorcycle allegedly used by Chetan Chaudhary to travel from Pune to Lohagad Fort. They recovered clothing and other items believed to have been used on the day of the incident, which are being examined as evidence.
According to police, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary were in a relationship and allegedly planned the murder to eliminate Ketan Agarwal, whom Siya was engaged to marry. Investigators claim the duo rehearsed the act multiple times at the fort and even searched online for methods to kill him before carrying out the alleged crime. These allegations remain part of the police investigation and are yet to be tested in court.
The Maharashtra government has ordered a fast-track trial in the high-profile case and appointed senior advocate Ujjwal Nikam as the Special Public Prosecutor. The move came after Ketan Agarwal's family sought swift justice and demanded strict action against the accused.
The case has triggered widespread public outrage, with residents and members of Ketan Agarwal's family organising candlelight marches in Pune to demand speedy justice. Police said the investigation is continuing and further forensic and digital evidence is being examined.
