Akanksha Chamola confirms divorce from Gaurav Khanna after nearly 10 years of marriage

Television actress Akanksha Chamola has confirmed that she and actor Gaurav Khanna are heading for divorce, months after dismissing rumours about trouble in their marriage. The revelation came during the premiere episode of Lock Upp Season 2, where the actress disclosed that the couple had been living separately for the past year. 

During the reality show's opening episode, Akanksha was asked to reveal a personal secret. She surprised the hosts and contestants by announcing that she and Gaurav had decided to end their marriage. She said they had been living apart for a year but had chosen to keep the separation private until now. 

Akanksha clarified that there is no bitterness between them and that they continue to communicate despite their separation. She explained that they mutually realised they were not compatible as life partners and decided to part ways amicably. 

The couple married in November 2016 in Kanpur after dating for several months. Over the years, they were regarded as one of television's popular couples, often sharing glimpses of their relationship on social media and in interviews. 

Akanksha's announcement has also renewed discussions around the couple's earlier interviews, including Gaurav's comments about differing views on parenthood. While the issue resurfaced after her revelation, neither actor has publicly cited a specific reason for the divorce beyond incompatibility. 

Gaurav Khanna, known for his roles in Anupamaa and other television shows, has not yet issued a public statement on the divorce. Fans have expressed shock over the development, especially as the couple had earlier denied reports of a split.
