Police bust sex racket in Paharganj, one arrested

The Delhi Police busted an alleged sex racket operating from a building on Qutub Road in Paharganj and rescued four women during a raid conducted on Thursday evening.
Authorities arrested one person accused of running the racket and initiated separate legal action against the premises owner.
According to police, the operation was launched after a secret informant approached the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Nabi Karim police station on June 11 and provided information about an alleged prostitution racket being run from a local building.
After confirming the illegal activity, the team conducted a raid at the premises and allegedly uncovered the sex racket. Four women, aged 20 to 34, were rescued during the operation.
Police arrested Shahrukh, 29, a resident of Laxmi Nagar, who is alleged to have been operating the racket from the premises. A case has been registered under Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (ITP Act) at the Nabi Karim police station.
In a parallel action, police also booked the owner of the rented property, Harikishan alias Raju Champion, 58, a resident of Dwarka, under Section 223A of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for allegedly allowing the premises to be used for unlawful activities. A separate FIR has been registered in this regard.
Investigators said relevant evidence was seized from the spot and taken into possession.
Authorities are questioning the arrested suspect to determine the involvement of others linked to the alleged racket and to uncover the wider network behind the operation.
