PM Modi, President Murmu to inaugurate projects worth ₹47,600 crore in Odisha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined President Droupadi Murmu in Odisha on Saturday to inaugurate and dedicate development projects worth more than ₹47,600 crore, marking two years of the state government and underscoring the Centre's focus on tribal welfare and infrastructure development.

The Prime Minister began his visit in Pahadpur village of Mayurbhanj district, the native village of President Murmu. Accompanied by the President, he offered prayers at the revered Santhali Jahera, Goshani Peeth and Ho Jahera sacred groves and interacted with members of the local tribal community.

During the visit, Modi explored exhibitions showcasing tribal heritage, traditional crafts and indigenous products. He also visited the Skill Development Centre and the SLS Memorial Residential School, where he interacted with students and encouraged them to pursue education, skill development and self-reliance.

The visit carried special significance as the Prime Minister joined President Murmu in her village on the occasion of her 68th birthday. Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi received the Prime Minister upon his arrival.

Later, the President and the Prime Minister attended a major public event at Rairangpur, where projects spanning infrastructure, connectivity, social welfare and economic development sectors were inaugurated and dedicated to the nation. The initiatives are aimed at accelerating growth and improving livelihoods across Odisha.
