Man beaten to death during train boarding scuffle at Delhi’s Shahdara Railway Station

A 32-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death during a scuffle among passengers while attempting to board the Yoga Express at Shahdara railway station in east Delhi today, police said.
The incident occurred on Platform No. 3 amid a rush of passengers trying to board the train. According to police, an argument broke out among commuters, which quickly escalated into a physical altercation.
The victim was identified as Pankaj Dhama, a resident of Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh. Preliminary investigations suggest that he was assaulted with punches and kicks by fellow passengers during the scuffle.
Dhama was rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Following the incident, police registered a medico-legal case and initiated proceedings under Sections 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from the railway station and questioning eyewitnesses to identify those involved in the assault. Police said efforts are underway to trace the accused and determine the exact sequence of events that led to the fatal incident.
