Patna court grants anticipatory bail to Khan sir and his 3 staff members in coaching centre firing case

A Patna civil court granted anticipatory bail to educator and YouTuber Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, in connection with the firing case linked to violence outside his coaching institute, Khan Global Studies (KGS).

The court also granted anticipatory bail to three of his staff members—Kanhaiya Kumar Singh, Ajit Kumar, and Ankit Kumar Pandey. Additionally, the two security guards arrested in the case were granted regular bail after spending time in judicial custody, according to Khan Sir's legal team.

The case stems from a violent clash outside Khan Global Studies in Patna's Musallahpur Haat area on the night of June 2. Police alleged that a group of 15-20 people linked to a rival coaching institute vandalised the premises, pelted stones and assaulted a security guard. Based on a complaint filed by the KGS management, police arrested several persons associated with the rival coaching centre.

The investigation later took a different turn after police examined videos allegedly showing two KGS security guards opening fire outside the institute after the violence had subsided. Investigators claimed the guards told them they acted on instructions from Khan Sir and other institute officials, leading to the registration of a separate FIR against the educator and others.

Khan Sir has denied the allegations, maintaining that the firing was an act of self-defence following the attack on his coaching institute. His lawyers argued that the case against him was based solely on statements made by the arrested guards and challenged the prosecution's claims.

The June 2 incident also led to proceedings against the rival coaching institute. Investigations into both the alleged vandalism and the subsequent firing remain ongoing.
