Palestine welcomes India's fresh development assistance for Gaza recovery

Palestine has welcomed India's latest development assistance package, describing it as an important contribution to Gaza's recovery and humanitarian needs. Palestinian Ambassador to India Abdullah M. Abu Shawesh expressed gratitude for New Delhi's continued support, saying the assistance reflects India's long-standing commitment to the Palestinian people during a period of immense hardship.
The envoy said the aid will help address urgent reconstruction and development requirements in Gaza, where infrastructure and essential services have been severely affected by the ongoing conflict.
He also appreciated India's consistent backing of a two-state solution and its support for Palestine's aspirations on international platforms, including the United Nations.
India recently reaffirmed its support for Palestine's UN membership bid while announcing fresh humanitarian and development assistance. The move underscores New Delhi's balanced approach in the Middle East, combining humanitarian aid with continued diplomatic engagement.
Palestinian officials expressed hope that India's assistance would strengthen relief efforts, support long-term reconstruction, and contribute to improving living conditions for civilians in Gaza as international efforts continue to restore stability in the region.
