Namo Bharat piers on Ghaziabad-Meerut stretch to become advertising platforms

With Namo Bharat trains carrying around 1.1 lakh commuters daily, the piers and portal structures along the Ghaziabad-Meerut stretch are set to become a new outdoor advertising platform, offering brands visibility across busy roads, markets and residential areas. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has invited bids for licensing advertising rights on piers and portal structures along the more than 50-km Sahibabad-Modipuram section of the Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor.

Located largely along road medians, the piers are positioned alongside highways and arterial roads with heavy vehicular movement and pass through densely populated residential areas, commercial establishments and busy markets in Ghaziabad and Meerut, NCRTC said. The corporation said the advertising spaces could offer branding opportunities to businesses, educational institutions, hospitals, real estate companies and food and beverage chains located along the route.

The corridor currently caters to around 1.1 lakh commuters every day and has crossed 4.5 crore passenger journeys, reflecting the growing use of Namo Bharat services in the region, it said. The initiative is aimed at creating an outdoor advertising ecosystem along the corridor while generating non-fare revenue for NCRTC, according to the transport corporation.

The selected licensee will be responsible for the design, fabrication, installation, operation and maintenance of the advertising infrastructure in accordance with the prescribed requirements, it mentioned. The Sahibabad-Modipuram stretch is surrounded by industrial areas, educational hubs and residential neighbourhoods, adding to the potential reach of the advertising spaces, NCRTC said.

The Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor spans around 82 km between Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi and Modipuram in Meerut. Local Meerut Metro services are also operated on the same infrastructure between Meerut South and Modipuram.

Interested bidders can participate through the e-tendering process. Details regarding eligibility criteria, terms and conditions and timelines are available on the NCRTC website and the Central Public Procurement Portal, it added.
