Nabin marks 12 years of NDA Government

Celebrating completion of 12 years of the NDA Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Nitin Nabin on Tuesday said that the period represented not merely a change in governance but a historic reclaiming of India’s self-confidence.

Joined by the party’s senior members and the full Cabinet of the Narendra Modi government, Nabin noted that Modi is set to become the country’s longest-serving democratically elected Prime Minister when he surpasses the first PM Jawaharlal Nehru’s tenure on Wednesday.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Health Minister JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and Railways and Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw were also present at an event organised for an interaction with senior journalists at Bharat Mandapam.

Nabin said the era of Bharatiyata is here. “There was a time when we did not take pride in Indian-ness,” he said. The BJP chief cited the abrogation of Article 370, the eradication of Naxalism, and a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism as defining features of the BJP-led NDA dispensation. He also said that basic facilities that had eluded people for years, from toilets and schools to cooking gas cylinders and health services, had been delivered to their doorsteps.

BJP also presented its 12-year report card under the banner “Viksit Bharat ka Sankalp: 12 Varsh, 12 Badi Uplabdhiyan” (Resolve of a Developed India: 12 Years, 12 Major Achievements), listing what it described as transformational outcomes across welfare, economy, security, and infrastructure.

The achievements cited include more than 25 crore people lifted out of poverty, over four crore families given permanent housing, and more than 60 crore people brought under the Ayushman Bharat health scheme. The party also cited more than three crore women becoming self-sufficient through the Lakhpati Didi initiative, over 57 crore Mudra loans disbursed to support self-employment, and more than 12 crore toilets built to ensure dignity for women.

On the economy, the party claimed record exports of Rs 79 lakh crore and record defence exports of Rs 38,400 crore. Social security coverage has tripled, it said. UPI transactions have grown 12,000 times, with digital transactions reaching Rs 314 lakh crore.

On connectivity, the party pointed to world-class rail services, including RRTS and the Vande Bharat network. On internal security, it described India as naxal-free, with former red corridor areas now designated as green growth zones.

Nabin said today’s secure and capable India stands fully prepared to safeguard its sovereignty, backed by resolute strikes against terrorism and the rising valour of its armed forces. “This 12-year journey of good governance and nation-first ethos now forms the strongest foundation for the grand resolve of Viksit Bharat at 2047,” he added.
