Massive reshuffle in West Bengal lower police administration
By Pioneer News Service

In a major reshuffle at the subaltern section of the State police administration, the Bengal Government transferred 108 police inspectors posted in various districts, police stations and specialised units, including the CID and GRP throughout the State.
The decision was communicated via a notification issued by the Home Department late Thursday night, sources said, adding that a number of police officers had been shifted out of the sensitive police station areas, whereas some important police stations in Howrah and Kolkata got new police officers too.
“These are all routine transfers that continue to take place from time to time … the officers have been asked to join their new postings immediately,” an IGP-level officer said.
