Mamata Banerjee Refuses to Resign Says Trinamool Did Not Lose West Bengal Election 2026

Mamata Banerjee, chief of the Trinamool Congress, has refused to resign following the party’s defeat in the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026, asserting that her party has not lost the mandate.

Addressing a press conference, Banerjee rejected the election outcome, alleging that the verdict in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party was “looted.”

“I have not lost, so I will not go to Raj Bhavan. I will not tender my resignation,” she said.

Her remarks come a day after the BJP secured a decisive victory in the state, ending the Trinamool Congress’ three consecutive terms in power.
