LDA to seal Lucknow coaching centre at 4 PM over safety and building norm violations

The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) will seal a coaching centre in the Aliganj area at 4 pm today, following serious allegations of fire safety lapses and building norm violations, officials said.
The action comes in the wake of the recent fire tragedy in Lucknow that claimed multiple lives and triggered a statewide crackdown on unsafe commercial and educational establishments.
According to officials, the coaching centre was found operating in violation of mandatory fire safety standards and building regulations. Authorities said the premises lacked proper safety compliance, including required approvals and adequate emergency preparedness measures.

The LDA has intensified inspections across the city, particularly targeting coaching institutes and commercial buildings functioning in densely populated areas. Several establishments have already been sealed or served notices as part of the ongoing drive.
Officials said the objective of the enforcement action is to ensure strict compliance with fire safety norms and prevent any repeat of recent tragedies. Investigations into regulatory lapses are also underway, including scrutiny of permissions and oversight mechanisms.
Further action is expected against other violators as the safety audit continues across Lucknow.
