Nagaland's capital, Kohima, will host a round of the F1 Sim Racing India Open 2026 for the first time on August 28 and 29 as part of the Tech X Gaming (TXG) Expo Nagaland 2026, organisers said Tuesday, August 25.

The two-day event will be held at the NBCC Convention Hall, Kohima, and will feature separate junior and senior categories. The championship is being positioned as a national platform to identify and nurture emerging motorsport talent through competitive sim racing using the official F1 game.

Addressing media persons, Ishaan Bhataya of Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited said the company would conduct the Kohima round of the F1 Sim Racing India Open 2026 at the TXG Expo.

He described the championship as India's first official Formula 1-sanctioned national sim racing competition aimed at discovering and developing the next generation of motorsport talent.

The Kohima round will provide young racers and gamers from Nagaland and the Northeast an opportunity to compete on an F1-linked national platform, while bringing together esports, motorsport and technology.

The TXG Expo Nagaland 2026 aims to provide young people with opportunities to explore gaming, esports, technology, artificial intelligence, digital creativity and other emerging industries.

The two-day expo will feature competitions, workshops, exhibitions and interactive experiences, bringing together gamers, young creators, students, technology enthusiasts and other participants under a common platform.
