Kejriwal calls AAP ‘true Sanatani’, accuses BJP of using Lord Ram for votes

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday described his party as the "true Sanatani" party and accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of using Lord Ram for electoral gains. Addressing a press conference, Kejriwal alleged that the BJP invoked Lord Ram to win elections but failed to uphold the values associated with the deity. He also linked his remarks to the ongoing controversy surrounding the alleged misappropriation of donations at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
Kejriwal claimed that AAP had consistently promoted Sanatan values through initiatives such as free pilgrimages, devotional events and temple development projects. He said the party's governance model was rooted in honesty and public service, contrasting it with what he described as the BJP's political use of religion. He also questioned the handling of the alleged Ram Temple donation case and called for accountability from those responsible.
The remarks have added to the political debate over religion and governance ahead of upcoming elections. The BJP has rejected similar allegations in the past, maintaining that it remains committed to protecting Hindu faith and values. The exchange is expected to further intensify the political discourse in the coming weeks.
