Indian techie drives AI-powered banking transformation in UK

Ashish Chatterjee, an Indian technology leader with more than 18 years of international experience, is playing a key role in transforming the UK’s banking sector by leading large-scale digital modernisation projects powered by cloud computing, Open Banking and artificial intelligence (AI). Chatterjee recently led the development of an Open Banking platform for a major UK bank serving one of Britain’s largest retail brands.

Built on a cloud-native microservices architecture, the platform supports between six and eight million registered users and processes three to five million transactions every day.

The system was delivered with 99.99 percent uptime and zero production defects, achieved through automated quality assurance, CI/CD pipelines and blue-green deployment strategies. Alongside the platform upgrade, Chatterjee also directed a structured AI transformation programme.
