Indian Diplomat objects to incorrect India map at Dhaka seminar, reaffirms J&K as integral part

An Indian diplomat lodged a strong objection after an incorrect map of India was displayed during a seminar in Bangladesh's capital, Dhaka, reiterating that Jammu and Kashmir is an "integral and inalienable" part of India.
The incident took place during a seminar titled "Rebuilding Trust, Renewing Regional Integration: Pathways for Revitalising SAARC" at the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS). The map was displayed as part of a presentation by former Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Ahmed Tariq Karim.
Pooja Kumari Jha, Second Secretary (Political and Information) at the Indian High Commission in Dhaka, immediately objected to the depiction, stating that the map shown was incorrect.
"The map of India depicted is incorrect. Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India," Jha said during the seminar.
Following the objection, Karim clarified that the map had been used "for representational purposes only" and was not intended to depict actual international boundaries.
The incident underscores India's consistent position on the status of Jammu and Kashmir and its practice of objecting to any international representation that it considers inconsistent with its official territorial boundaries. The video of the exchange has since circulated widely on social media.
