India issues urgent advisory for citizens to leave Iran as Israel–Iran conflict escalates

India has issued an urgent travel advisory for its citizens in Iran, asking them to leave the country immediately amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran that have raised fears of a wider regional conflict.

The advisory was issued by the Indian Embassy in Tehran as renewed military strikes and counterstrikes between Israel and Iran intensified in recent days, further destabilising the region.

Indian nationals have been strongly advised to avoid all non-essential travel to Iran. Those already present in the country have been urged to exit at the earliest opportunity using available commercial transport options.

The move comes as the conflict in the Middle East continues to expand, with fresh waves of attacks increasing security concerns across the region. The situation has also disrupted air routes and heightened risks for foreign nationals in affected areas.

Indian authorities have reiterated that they are closely monitoring developments and are in contact with citizens in Iran to ensure their safety and provide necessary assistance.

The advisory is part of a broader set of precautionary measures issued by India in response to the ongoing Israel–Iran hostilities, which have sparked global concern over the possibility of a larger conflict.
