India crush Chile 6-0 to storm into FIH Women’s Nations Cup Final

India continued their impressive run in the FIH Women’s Nations Cup, crushing Chile 6-0 in the semifinal in Auckland on Saturday to book a place in the title clash.

Navneet Kaur and Deepika starred with two goals each, while Neha and Rutuja Dadaso Pisal also got on the scoresheet as India registered their fourth straight win of the tournament. Captain Salima Tete was named Player of the Match for her influential all-round performance.

India took control early, with Navneet opening the scoring from a penalty corner in the sixth minute before adding a second soon after from a Salima assist. Deepika then struck twice through penalty corners to give India a commanding 4-0 lead at half-time and move to the top of the tournament's scoring chart with six goals.

The Indian side maintained the pressure after the break. Neha converted another penalty corner before Rutuja scored from open play with a powerful reverse hit to complete the rout. Goalkeeper Savita also made a couple of key saves in the final quarter to ensure a clean sheet.

India will now face either the USA or hosts New Zealand in the final as they aim to lift the Women's Nations Cup title.
