Gyan Bhadra presents new book to Special CP

Author and columnist Gyan Bhadra recently presented a copy of his latest book, ‘New Delhi’s Diplomatic Sleight of Hand for New World Order’, to Devesh Chandra Srivastava, Special Commissioner of Police (Law & Order), Delhi Police here.
The book explores India’s diplomatic outreach to the developing world and is based on exclusive interviews conducted with labour ministers representing Non-Aligned and other developing countries who visited New Delhi in 1995 for the 5th International Conference of Labour Ministers of Non-Aligned and Other Developing Countries, organised at Vigyan Bhavan.
The book revisits a significant chapter in India’s diplomatic history and highlights the country’s engagement with the Global South during a period of major international political, labour and economic transition.
Drawing on first-hand accounts of participating ministers, the book examines the ideas, priorities and diplomatic initiatives that contributed to India’s evolving role in the emerging world order.
During the meeting, Bhadra briefed the special commissioner on the research underpinning the book and discussed its relevance in understanding India’s diplomatic evolution and its continuing engagement with developing nations.
