Gujarat emerges as a model of growth: CM Patel

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the second annual trade expo of the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Gandhinagar, highlighting the state’s rise as a national model of development driven by the integration of tradition and modern commerce.
Addressing the gathering, Patel said that under the leadership of Narendra Modi, Gujarat has successfully blended trade with tradition, commerce with culture, and industry with entrepreneurship, positioning itself as a “Global Gateway to the Future”.
The three-day Gujarat Advanced Technology and Economy Expo-2026, held from April 16 to 18 at the Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar, featured over 15 sectors across 18,000 square metres.
Key focus areas included automobiles, renewable energy, information technology, pharmaceuticals, textiles, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the expo, themed “Gujarat Vision, Global Ambition”, would provide a strong platform for MSMEs and young entrepreneurs to expand from local to global markets.
He credited the continued success of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit for strengthening the state’s industrial ecosystem. Patel emphasised Gujarat’s leadership in emerging sectors such as green growth, electric vehicle manufacturing, and semiconductors, aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision of “Make in India, Made for the World.” He noted that Gujarat contributes 8.3 per cent to India’s GDP, 18 per cent to industrial output, and 31 per cent to exports.
Highlighting long-term planning, the chief minister said Gujarat is the first state to prepare a “Developed Gujarat 2047” roadmap, aligned with the national vision of Developed India 2047. He added that collaboration between industry bodies and the Government would be key to achieving global standards of growth and innovation.
