Greater Noida Dowry Case: Woman dies after alleged assault, family claims murder over ₹51 lakh demand

A 25-year-old woman in Greater Noida has died under suspicious circumstances, with her family alleging that she was murdered over an unmet dowry demand.

The incident took place in the Jalpura area under Ecotech-III police station limits, where the woman allegedly fell from the rooftop of her in-laws’ house late Sunday night.

Her family claims that she was subjected to continuous mental and physical harassment for dowry since her marriage 17 months ago.

According to her father, the in-laws had demanded an additional ₹51 lakh and a luxury car, over and above the dowry already given during the wedding.

He alleged that nearly ₹1 crore worth of cash, gold, and a vehicle had already been given at the time of marriage, but harassment continued thereafter.

The victim reportedly called her family on the day of the incident, stating she was being beaten. Later that night, they were informed that she had fallen from the roof and was critically injured.

The woman was rushed to a hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries. Her husband and father-in-law have been arrested in connection with the case.

While police are investigating the exact circumstances of the death, the victim’s family has rejected the suicide theory and alleged that she was killed and pushed from the rooftop.

The body has been sent for post-mortem, and further investigation is underway.
