Goa DGP Alok Kumar faints at Independence Day event

Goa Director General of Police Alok Kumar fainted near the stage during an Independence Day function attended by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in Panaji on Saturday, triggering concern at the venue.
The Chief Minister's Office said Kumar collapsed due to dehydration. He was taken to a private hospital on a stretcher for medical evaluation.
The incident occurred during the Independence Day parade as Sawant was distributing awards. Kumar was seen getting down from the stage after showing signs of uneasiness and drank water before collapsing.
The Goa Police later said Kumar's vital parameters had been checked and were normal.
“He was taken to a hospital for a check-up. His vital parameters have been checked. Everything is normal,” the Goa Police PRO said in a statement.
Kumar remains under medical observation, with officials describing his condition as stable.
