Gandhinagar cyber raid busts terror, drug network

A major cyber operation in Gujarat has led to the exposure of an alleged international drug trafficking and terror financing network operating through the dark web and cryptocurrency channels. Authorities confirmed that nine suspected operatives with advanced technical expertise have been detained during the coordinated action in Gandhinagar.

The operation was reportedly carried out by a cyber-intelligence unit after tracking suspicious online activities linked to illegal narcotics transactions and encrypted financial movements. Investigators believe the accused used anonymous digital platforms, cryptocurrency wallets, and hidden communication networks to avoid detection while managing the illegal operation.

According to preliminary findings, profits generated from the narcotics trade were allegedly routed through complex crypto transactions, raising concerns over possible links to terror financing activities. Security agencies are now examining whether the network had international connections extending to countries such as Pakistan, Afghanistan, or other foreign locations.

Officials said intensive interrogation of the detained suspects is currently underway to identify additional collaborators and uncover the wider reach of the network inside India.

Further disclosures are expected as the investigation progresses.
