EAM S Jaishankar begins visit to Mongolia to strengthen bilateral ties

External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar has begun his official visit to Mongolia and South Korea from today, aimed at strengthening India’s strategic, economic and cultural partnerships with both countries.
According to official details, the visit will focus on expanding cooperation in key areas including trade, investment, energy, development partnerships, and people-to-people exchanges. Jaishankar is expected to hold high-level meetings with top leadership in both nations during the trip.
In Mongolia, discussions are likely to centre on enhancing India’s developmental assistance, cultural linkages, and strategic engagement as part of India’s “Neighbourhood and Act East” outreach. The visit also highlights long-standing civilisational ties between the two countries.
In South Korea, the External Affairs Minister will review the progress of the India–Republic of Korea Special Strategic Partnership. Talks are expected to cover advanced technology, defence cooperation, semiconductors, shipbuilding, and supply chain resilience.
The visit underscores India’s continued diplomatic push to deepen engagement in the Indo-Pacific region and strengthen ties with key strategic partners.
