Dr Bharti Kashyap bags EIZOC Felicitation Award
Renowned ophthalmologist Dr Bharti Kashyap was felicitated with the prestigious Felicitation Award by the Eastern India Zonal Ophthalmological Conference (EIZOC) for her sustained contribution to the advancement of scientific, academic and public awareness activities in ophthalmology in Jharkhand.
The award was presented to Dr Kashyap on September 12 during the inaugural ceremony of the annual conference of the Eastern India Eye Society. The honour recognises her continued efforts towards strengthening academic development, scientific activities and eye-health awareness in the state.
EIZOC is a prominent regional platform representing ophthalmologists from 13 states of eastern India. Dr Kashyap has been serving as Chairperson of the Scientific Committee of the Jharkhand Ophthalmological Society (JHOS) since 2019 and has played an active role in promoting scientific and academic activities among eye-care professionals in the state.
Under her leadership, a range of Continuing Medical Education (CME) programmes, scientific sessions and academic initiatives for young ophthalmologists and postgraduate students have been encouraged. Various public awareness campaigns related to eye health have also been promoted as part of efforts to take scientific knowledge beyond professional forums and closer to communities.
Her initiatives have also focused on providing ophthalmologists in Jharkhand greater exposure to national-level academic platforms and encouraging professional exchange and knowledge-sharing.
Speaking after receiving the award, Dr Kashyap expressed her gratitude to EIZOC and said the recognition would encourage her to work with greater dedication towards scientific excellence, medical education and creating wider awareness about eye health in the public interest.
The award adds to Dr Kashyap’s continuing association with academic and public-health initiatives in ophthalmology and reflects the role played by state-level professional bodies in strengthening eye-care education and awareness.
