DPS Bokaro launches drone-based seed bombing drive on Ozone Day

Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro marked International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer on September 16 with an innovative aerial seed-bombing drive using drones. Led by Principal Dr. A. S. Gangwar, the school’s Eco-Volunteers deployed two drones near Surya Mandir, Sector IV/F, dispersing over 500 nutrient-rich seed bombs across barren areas.
The organic seed balls contained native species such as Neem, Sal, Palash, Mahogany, Ashok and Arjun. Made from local soil, organic manure and seeds, the pellets are designed to germinate with rainfall and support reforestation and biodiversity.
Dr. Gangwar stressed the importance of expanding green cover to protect the environment and mitigate climate change, urging students to continue the school’s Go Green campaign.
