DK Shivakumar denies shifting of Tamil Nadu Congress MLAs to Bengaluru

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar dismissed reports claiming that Congress MLAs from Tamil Nadu had been shifted to a resort in Bengaluru amid ongoing political developments in the neighbouring state.

Shivakumar, who also serves as the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president, said he had no knowledge of any such movement of MLAs to the city’s Eagleton Resort and termed the reports as false.

Responding to media queries in Bengaluru, he said he had only seen news reports regarding the developments in Tamil Nadu and had not received any communication from the party leadership on the matter.

“The party high command has not spoken to me about it. If the party high command speaks, that is a different matter. Whatever stand the party takes, I will abide by it,” he said, adding that any decision would be based on the party’s directive.

He further clarified that no Congress MLAs from Tamil Nadu had been shifted to Eagleton Resort and reiterated that he had no information regarding such a move.

Political activity in Tamil Nadu has intensified following the recent Assembly election results, with parties engaged in discussions over government formation and alliance support. However, no official confirmation has been made regarding the relocation of legislators.
