Delhi man accused of killing wife with tawa after argument walks into Police Station to confess

A 48-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife with a tawa (iron griddle) following a domestic dispute at their home in southwest Delhi's Najafgarh. According to police, the accused, who is reportedly unemployed and undergoing treatment for schizophrenia, walked into a nearby police station on Sunday morning and confessed to the crime. Officers immediately reached the house, where they found the woman critically injured. She was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the couple had a heated argument late on Saturday night, during which the man allegedly attacked his wife with the kitchen utensil, causing fatal injuries.
After the incident, he left the house and later surrendered before the police, admitting to the killing. Investigators are verifying his medical history and examining all aspects of the case as part of the ongoing probe.
A murder case has been registered, and the accused is in police custody. The victim's body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, while forensic experts continue to collect evidence from the scene. Police said further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
