The 14th Dalai Lama on Wednesday attended a long life prayer ceremony at the Tsuglagkhang Temple complex in Dharamsala, drawing thousands of devotees from across the world.

The ceremony was organised jointly by the Central Dokham Chushi Gangdrug and the Himalayan Buddhist Cultural Association at the Main Tibetan Temple in Himachal Pradesh.

More than 6,000 Tibetans, including monks, nuns and international followers, gathered to offer prayers for the spiritual leader’s long life and well-being. Organisers described the event as spiritually significant for the Tibetan community in exile.

Devotees from different countries expressed gratitude for the opportunity to receive blessings from the Dalai Lama. Many called him a global symbol of peace and compassion during a time of ongoing international conflicts.

Several participants said they had spent years preparing for the ceremony, highlighting the deep emotional and spiritual importance of the occasion for Tibetan Buddhists worldwide.

Organisers stated that the event concluded peacefully with collective prayers for the Dalai Lama’s longevity, reflecting his enduring global influence and the reverence he commands among followers.
