Congress leader Rahul Gandhi shares lunch with Delhi auto drivers, discusses rising costs

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi met auto-rickshaw drivers in central Delhi and shared lunch with them during an informal interaction aimed at understanding their daily challenges.

The meeting took place near Bengali Market, where Gandhi spent time listening to drivers' concerns about rising fuel prices, increasing maintenance costs, and declining earnings.

During the interaction, several drivers spoke about the financial pressure they are facing due to stagnant fares and higher operating expenses.

The visit comes shortly after transport unions across Delhi-NCR staged a major strike demanding fare revisions and relief from rising costs. Gandhi was also seen wearing an auto driver's uniform and interacting with children during the visit.

The Congress leader has frequently engaged with workers, labourers, truck drivers, and small traders in recent years to discuss issues related to inflation and livelihoods.

His latest outreach is being viewed as an effort to connect with working-class communities and highlight the economic challenges faced by ordinary citizens amid rising living costs.
