Bengaluru court issues non-bailable warrant against Prakash Raj in voter ID case

Actor Prakash Raj has been issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) by a Bengaluru court in connection with a case alleging that he obtained multiple voter identity cards across different states, according to reports.
The warrant was reportedly issued by a magistrate court after the actor allegedly failed to appear for hearings despite multiple summons. The case stems from a private complaint filed by a Bengaluru-based individual who accused Prakash Raj of possessing voter IDs in more than one state, which is a violation of election rules.
As per the complaint, the actor is alleged to have been registered as a voter in multiple states, including Karnataka and other regions, raising concerns over duplication of electoral records. The court has now directed authorities to ensure his appearance in the matter.
Reports further suggest that the case has been under investigation for some time, and repeated non-appearance in court proceedings led to the issuance of the non-bailable warrant.
The development has triggered widespread attention due to Prakash Raj’s prominence in Indian cinema and public life. However, the legal process is still underway, and the allegations have not yet been proven in court.
Prakash Raj is yet to issue a detailed public response to the latest court order.
