9 Palestinians killed in overnight Israeli strikes on Gaza, hospital says

At least 9 Palestinians were killed in overnight Israeli strikes across Gaza City, according to local health officials, as violence continues despite an October ceasefire agreement aimed at ending the prolonged conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Officials at Shifa Hospital said the victims were killed in at least four separate strikes and that the bodies were brought to the facility overnight. The Israeli military did not immediately comment on the reported attacks.

The latest fatalities come amid ongoing tensions in Gaza, where sporadic violence has continued despite the ceasefire. While large-scale fighting has largely subsided, Israeli forces have continued airstrikes and military operations, citing security threats and violations of the truce.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, more than 900 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire took effect. Israel maintains that its actions target militants and threats to its forces, while Palestinian officials report significant civilian casualties.

The Gaza war began after Hamas launched an attack on Israel in October 2023, killing around 1,200 people and taking hundreds hostage, triggering a major Israeli military offensive in the territory.
