4 Killed, 3 injured as car rams stationary truck in UP’s Rampur while en route to Jim Corbett

4 people were killed and 3 others injured after a car carrying tourists from Delhi collided with a stationary truck in Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur district while they were travelling to Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand.
The accident took place in the Tanda police station area on the Swar-Tanda road around 5 am on Saturday. Police said 12 people from Delhi were travelling in two vehicles, with seven occupants in the car that met with the accident.
The deceased have been identified as Abhishek Agnihotri (30), Kartik (24), Neeraj (24) and Gulbuddin (35). Three victims died on the spot, while Gulbuddin succumbed to injuries during treatment at a hospital.
Three injured passengers were initially admitted to the district hospital and later referred to Delhi for further treatment. Police said the victims were employees of a Delhi-based company.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the driver may have fallen asleep while driving, leading to the collision. Rescue teams had to use cutters to remove the bodies and injured passengers trapped inside the damaged vehicle.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and further investigation into the accident is underway.
