2 Killed after chemical tanker overturns and crushes autorickshaw in Thane

2 people lost their lives and another suffered serious injuries after a chemical tanker overturned and crushed a moving autorickshaw on Ghodbunder Road in Maharashtra's Thane district on Wednesday afternoon.
The accident occurred around 12:30 pm in the Anand Nagar area when the tanker and the autorickshaw were travelling in the same direction. Police said the tanker toppled onto the three-wheeler, completely crushing it beneath the heavy vehicle. Authorities confirmed that there was no chemical leakage following the incident.
The victims were identified as autorickshaw driver Dashrath Pawar and passenger Mohammad Amin, who died at the scene. Another passenger sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Traffic police and rescue teams quickly reached the spot, removed the overturned tanker and cleared the damaged autorickshaw, restoring traffic movement after a temporary disruption on the busy route.

Police have initiated legal proceedings against the tanker driver, and an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
