Škoda India sets new circuit record at Coimbatore track

Škoda Auto India has launched a new brand campaign centred on its performance credentials, marked by a national record set at the Coimbatore Automotive Sports and Technical Training (CoASTT) circuit.
The campaign, built around the idea that the "Greatest On A Track" is a "Škoda On A Track," underscores the brand's motorsport legacy and its focus on delivering dynamic capability and safety across its product range. The initiative comes as the company continues to expand its network and product portfolio in India.
"As a brand, motorsport DNA isn't a halo; it is inherent, and it comes standard across our entire range," said Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India. "This campaign is a natural extension of our strategy of democratizing performance, ensuring that every Škoda offers uncompromising dynamic capability, safety, and confidence that translates seamlessly into the real world."
To kick off the campaign, Škoda Auto India set a record for the 'Fastest Multi-Car Relay of a Single Manufacturer on a Circuit,' certified by the India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records. A fleet of five cars - Kylaq, Kushaq, Slavia, Octavia RS and Kodiaq - completed a timed relay in 12:30.97, including pit-lane changeovers.
Individually, the Octavia RS posted the fastest lap at 2:10.85 on the 3.8 km circuit, while the Kodiaq, Slavia, Kushaq and Kylaq recorded competitive lap times across segments. The relay format required consistent performance across all vehicles, highlighting the brand's focus on handling, braking and overall driving dynamics.
Gupta added that the campaign celebrates qualities such as steering precision, chassis balance and driver engagement - "intangibles that will never be captured on a spec sheet but are unmistakable behind the wheel."
With a global legacy spanning 130 years and over a century in motorsport, Škoda says the campaign reinforces its positioning as a performance-driven and safety-focused brand in India.
