Six of JEE top 10 rank holders emerge from single institute in Kota

Kota-based Allen Career Institute on Monday claimed that six of the top 10 rank holders in the JEE (Advanced) 2026 results were its students.
The institute said 24 of its students featured in the top 50 rank, while 41 secured places in the top 100.
According to Allen’s founder director, Rajesh Maheshwari, Shubham Kumar from the institute emerged as the all-India topper with a score of 330 out of 360, followed by Kabi Chillar with 329 marks, and Jatin Chahar with 319 marks.
The institute also said that Arohi Deshpande was the all-India girls’ topper, securing AIR 77 with 280 marks. The Allen Institute further claimed that five of the seven IIT zonal toppers, covering Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Bhubaneswar and Roorkee, were its students.
Allen CEO Nitin Kukreja told PTI, “It’s a hat-trick. This is the third time that an AIR -1 has come from Allen. No other institute has performed so well in the last 10 years.” ‘We are happy and proud of the successes of each and every student of the institute,” he said. “Expert faculties, 38-year-old pedology and legacy of Allen Career Institute, strong digital support and academic, non-academic ethos and culture of the institute are the four key factors that helped produce top rankers and create success,” he said.
Earlier, Shubham Kumar said he was delighted to secure the top rank.
“I had been preparing for JEE Advanced for the past two years, and I was hopeful that my hard work would help me secure a good rank. Now that I have secured All India Rank 1, I feel very happy,” Kumar told PTI Videos. According to the result data released by Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, the institute that organised JEE Advanced exam, a total of 1,79,694 candidates out of 1,87,389 those who registered appeared in both papers conducted on May 17.
The IIT Madras zone had the highest number of qualified candidates at 14,294, followed by IIT Bombay with 12,389 and IIT Delhi with 10,697 qualified candidates. The JEE (Advanced) is the gateway for admission to undergraduate programmes at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and several other premier engineering institutions across the country.
