Sashastra Seema Bal takes initiative towards welfare of force personnel and bright future of their children

Continuing its commitment towards the welfare of Force personnel and their families, the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) on Tuesday signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the prestigious educational institution Pawan Ganga Educational Society (PGES), New Delhi. The objective of this agreement is to provide quality and affordable educational opportunities to the children of Force personnel, particularly those of martyrs and serving personnel, enabling them to shape a brighter and more promising future through better academic exposure.
On this occasion, Sanjay Singhal, Director General, Sashastra Seema Bal, stated that the Force has always accorded the highest priority to the welfare of its personnel and their families. He emphasized that SSB personnel serve the nation under challenging and demanding conditions along the borders, and therefore, ensuring quality education and a secure future for their children is a moral responsibility of the Force. He described the agreement as a significant achievement for SSB families and expressed confidence that it would provide the wards of personnel with access to quality education, modern resources, and enhanced career opportunities.
Senior officers and personnel from Force Headquarters attended the programme, while officers and personnel from various frontier and field formations joined virtually. Representing Pawan Ganga Educational Society, Colonel Ashok Kaul, Director, PGES, Swati Joshi, Principal, GIS, and other distinguished representatives of the institution participated in the event and described the partnership as a positive initiative in the interest of society. Under the agreement, 10 completely free seats will be provided at GIS School for wards of SSB martyrs, with only mess charges being applicable. In addition, 250 eligible wards of SSB personnel will receive up to 60 per cent fee concession.
Furthermore, 40 per cent fee concession will be provided on 50 seats under the Public Outreach Programme. Significant benefits have also been ensured in the field of higher education, including 05 full tuition waiver seats at GITAM for the wards of SSB martyrs and 20 per cent tuition fee concession for 100 wards of SSB personnel. The agreement extends beyond fee concessions and focuses on the holistic development of students by facilitating access to skill development programmes, innovation and research ecosystems, internships, entrepreneurship support, career counseling and placement assistance. These initiatives will help equip the children of SSB families with the knowledge, skills and opportunities required to compete effectively at national and global levels.
On the occasion, Rekha Lohani, Additional Director General, Ratn Sanjay, Inspector General (Int), Ganesh Kumar, Inspector General (Pers), Somit Joshi, Inspector General (Admn.), along with other senior officers of the Force and distinguished representatives of the educational institution, were also present.
