Renault Group announces ‘FutuREady’ plan for India

Renault Group Chief Executive Officer, Francois Provost today unveiled the French car manufacturers’ ‘FutuREady’ plan for India until 2030. This will see Renault launch seven new models by 2030 starting with the recently launched Duster.
The plan envisages Renault achieving five percent market share by 2030 and also dramatically expanding exports, which are expected to touch $2 billion in the same timeframe.
Additionally, the plans include the launch of an all-new platform — RGEP which will replace the existing CMF-A platform. New versions of the Kiger and Triber on this new platform are expected to be launched soon and will support underfloor factory-footed CNG options.
It was also announced that the new Bridger sub-4m SUV will be Renault’s first electric vehicle in India but will also feature a brand-new 1.2 Turbo petrol engine. This new vehicle is planned to be launched in late-2027.
Speaking to The Pioneer, Stephan Deblaise, Chief Executive Officer, Renault Group India, also highlighted that the company is expected to launch several hybrid options.
“We are also exploring the possibility of a ‘Super Hybrid’ which can be compared to a plug-in extended range hybrid. Our experience in Brazil can also allow us to introduce flex-fuel vehicles if necessary.”
Deblaise also praised the Delhi Government’s new draft EV policy that gives tax incentives to strong hybrid vehicles. “Hybrid vehicles offer a significant 30 per cent reduction in the carbon footprint without the need to add charging infrastructure. I believe giving incentives to hybrids is an extremely positive step and our plans to launch a hybrid variant of the Duster remains on track for the festive season this year.”
Speaking about the current geopolitical challenges, Deblaise added that it had made consumers across the world consider battery electric vehicles more seriously.
“Carmakers make very long lead times of development and one crisis doesn’t really change progress but clearly, there is some change in consumer behaviour across the world thanks to the problems in West Asia.”
