Rekha Gupta Celebrates BJP Bengal Lead With Jhalmuri And Rasgulla At Delhi Secretariat

Celebrations broke out at the Delhi Secretariat as Rekha Gupta joined her Cabinet colleagues to mark the Bharatiya Janata Party’s strong lead in the West Bengal Assembly Election results 2026.
The informal gathering featured a distinctly eastern flavour, with ministers enjoying traditional snacks like Jhalmuri and Rasgulla, symbolising the party’s performance in West Bengal.
Taking to social media, the Chief Minister described the development as significant, stating that the results reflect growing public support for the BJP. She credited the leadership of Narendra Modi for the party’s expanding footprint across states.
Delhi Home Minister Ashish Sood said the party’s performance marks a historic moment, suggesting that the BJP is poised to form a majority government in West Bengal for the first time.
Highlighting the broader significance, Sood referred to Syama Prasad Mookerjee, noting the state’s historical importance in the party’s ideological journey. He added that the outcome reinforces BJP’s position as a pan-India political force.
He also underlined West Bengal’s strategic importance, particularly in terms of internal security and border management, stating that voters have shown confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Officials indicated that celebrations were also underway at BJP offices in the capital, with more leaders expected to join as counting trends continued to favour the party.
