PM Narendra Modi Calls Bengal Verdict ‘Unprecedented and Historic’ After BJP’s Strong 2026 Election Performance

Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the 2026 election results, particularly the BJP’s strong performance in West Bengal, as an “unprecedented and historic” turning point in Indian politics.
Addressing party workers at the BJP headquarters in Delhi, the Prime Minister joined BJP National President Nitin Nabin in celebrating what the party called a landmark electoral mandate following the declaration of results across key states, including West Bengal, Assam, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala.
Modi said the outcome reflected years of dedicated effort by BJP workers across the country and highlighted the emotional significance of the victory.
“Today’s win is truly historic. When years of silent dedication and relentless hard work finally translate into such monumental success, the joy on the faces of BJP Karyakartas is incomparable,” he said, addressing a jubilant gathering.
He further stated that the mandate was not just a political victory but also a validation of the BJP’s long-term vision of “Purvoday” or the rise of the eastern states.
The Prime Minister also extended gratitude to voters across multiple states, saying, “I respectfully bow to the people of Bengal, Assam, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. I also congratulate millions of BJP workers. Every worker has performed wonders, making the lotus bloom once again.”
BJP Calls Victory a Result of Long Struggle
BJP National President Nitin Nabin dedicated the victory to party workers who, according to him, faced years of political violence and hardship. He also paid tribute to families of party workers who were affected during the party’s organisational struggles.
Nabin said the election outcome reflected strong public trust in the BJP’s governance model and claimed it demonstrated a rare “pro-incumbency” wave driven by transparency and delivery of promises.
He also pointed to the symbolic importance of May 4, saying the strong mandate had helped overcome the disappointment of the 2024 general election results.Highlighting the broader trend, Nabin said the BJP’s influence was expanding rapidly across India and expressed confidence that the party would further strengthen its presence in South India in the coming years.
He added that the party would now focus on implementing its manifesto commitments and ensuring the benefits of the “double-engine” government reach every household.
