NEW ZEALAND, PAK match washed out
New Zealand and Pakistan shared a point after incessant rain forced the abandonment of the opening T20 World Cup Group 2 Super Eights match here on Saturday. Amid a slight drizzle, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. But the steady droplets soon transformed into relentless pouring, forcing the officials to call off the match without a ball being bowled. Pakistan will now face England here on February 24. New Zealand will make a light travel to Colombo to face home side Sri Lanka on February 25.
MP: EC drops 24 lakh ELECTORAL names
The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Saturday published the final electoral roll for Madhya Pradesh after a nearly four-month-long Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, deleting over 34 lakh names from the list. The state now has more than 5.39 crore voters, as per the final electoral roll. According to the data released by the ECI, Madhya Pradesh had 5,74,06,143 voters before SIR began in October last year. While the number stood at 5,31,31,983 voters after the draft roll was published, the final figure rose to 5,39,81,065.

The Adani Group is working on strategies to restart the Formula 1 motor sport at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida, Karan Adani, the Director of Adani Cement said on Saturday. According to official sources, Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya recently visited the circuit and held talks with officials from Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority. “I’m very excited... obviously the Buddh circuit comes (as) part of the deal. I'm very personally engaged in terms of bringing Formula 1 back into India. I think India has a lot of potential. There’s a lot of following in Formula 1 from India, ” Adani, who is also the MD of Adani Ports & SEZ, said.
