NEET-UG Re-Exam: NTA conducts nationwide mock drill ahead of June 21 test

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted a nationwide mock drill on Saturday as part of its preparations for the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21. The exercise was aimed at assessing the readiness of examination centres and ensuring the smooth conduct of the medical entrance test across the country.
According to officials, extensive security and administrative arrangements have been put in place to maintain the integrity of the examination. More than two lakh personnel, including police and district administration officials, have been deployed nationwide for the re-exam.
The NTA said a multi-layered security framework has been implemented, including Aadhaar-based biometric verification, CCTV surveillance linked to central control rooms, GPS-enabled transportation of exam materials, and mandatory frisking using high-sensitivity metal detectors.
Candidates have been advised to report to their examination centres well before the deadline, as entry gates will close at 1:30 pm. The re-examination will be held from 2 pm to 5:15 pm with enhanced monitoring systems in place to prevent malpractice and ensure transparency.
The NEET-UG 2026 re-exam is being conducted after the original examination held on May 3 was cancelled following allegations of a paper leak. Authorities have said the strengthened security measures are intended to restore confidence in the examination process and ensure a fair opportunity for all candidates.
