NIA arrests 2 key accused in West Bengal's Amta Bomb Blast Case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested two prime accused in connection with the Amta bomb blast case in West Bengal, marking a significant breakthrough in the probe into the explosion that had raised concerns over the use of illegal explosives in the region.
According to the NIA, the two accused were apprehended during a coordinated operation after investigators gathered evidence linking them to the blast. The agency said the arrests are part of its ongoing efforts to identify and prosecute all those involved in the incident.
The Amta bomb blast, which occurred in Howrah district, prompted a detailed investigation into the source of the explosives and the network behind the attack. NIA officials have been examining forensic evidence, witness statements and other material collected during the course of the probe.
Investigators suspect that the accused played a crucial role in the planning and execution of the blast. The agency is also looking into possible links with illegal bomb-making activities and whether additional individuals were involved in the conspiracy.
The arrested persons are expected to be produced before a special NIA court, where the agency will seek their custody for further interrogation. Officials said the investigation remains ongoing and more arrests could follow based on fresh leads.
