Lakshmi Yojana receives 5.14 lakh registrations in 7 days: CM

The Delhi Lakshmi Yojana has received over 5.14 lakh registrations within seven days of its launch, with more than 2.18 lakh applications finally submitted so far. The scheme, launched on August 1, provides financial assistance of Rs 2,500 per month to eligible women, according to the Delhi Government.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta described the response to the scheme as unprecedented, saying the number of registrations reflected the women’s trust in the initiative to provide financial support and promote savings.

As of Saturday afternoon, 5,14,460 women had registered under the scheme, while 2,18,728 applications had been finally submitted, according to data shared by the Chief Minister’s Office.

Of the total registrations, 4,36,316 beneficiaries had entered their district or assembly constituency details, while 78,144 were yet to provide these details, the statement said.

The North-East district has recorded the highest number of registrations, with 73,676 registered users having entered their district details, of whom 38,579 applications have been finally submitted.

This is followed by the North-West district, where 34,545 out of 55,700 registered users have finally submitted their applications; the West district, where 18,967 out of 44,358 have done so; the South-West district, where 23,994 out of 44,149 have finally submitted their applications; the Outer North district, where 23,694 out of 39,401 have done so; the South-East district, where 18,725 out of 38,979 have finally submitted their applications; the North district, where 16,074 out of 37,263 have done so; the East district, where 14,771 out of 30,621 have finally submitted their applications; the South district, where 11,000 out of 26,316 have done so; the Central-North district, where 6,332 out of 14,279 have finally submitted their applications; the Central district, where 4,208 out of 13,715 have done so; the Old Delhi district, where 6,038 out of 12,286 have finally submitted their applications; and the New Delhi district, where 1,801 out of 5,573 have finally submitted their applications.

The Government said the verification of applications is underway and added that it aimed to release the first instalment to eligible beneficiaries on Raksha Bandhan.

Under the scheme, beneficiaries can choose between two options — Rs 1,000 to be made available through a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) wallet for daily expenses and the remaining Rs 1,500 deposited in an RD/FD, or the entire Rs 2,500 being deposited in an RD/FD.

The statement said the application, document verification, eligibility assessment, approval, PFMS integration, banking and payment processes were being carried out digitally.

Each application undergoes a four-level scrutiny and approval process to ensure that the benefits reach eligible beneficiaries, it said. The Chief Minister said the scheme was aimed not only at providing financial assistance but also at encouraging savings, digital financial inclusion and greater financial security among women.

According to the statement, the Chief Minister has appealed to all eligible women who have not yet applied to visit the official Delhi Lakshmi Yojana portal www.dly.delhi.gov.in and apply online to avail themselves of the benefits of this historic initiative of the Delhi Government.
